That books chair.

Camden Market

This is what my room looks like most of the time. Books, papers and chairs everywhere. My to-read list is quite overwhelming and I always end up reading whatever my mood dictates anyway.

London Bricks.

Something I noticed almost as soon as I landed in London was the bricks. What a weird thing to notice! But I really think they are worth mentioning. From my memory there were red, white-ish, yellow and brown bricks. The red ones, I concluded, are used in elegant buildings and are carved. I’d never seen carved red bricks to create and ornate front. The brown and yellow bricks, I saw, were used in big buildings and in some cases the entrances contrasted by being made of limestone or white plaster to create a classical entrance. I really wish I could study the composition of these types of bricks. Here in Mexico we have red bricks, but their pores are wide and I don’t think they could be carved without breaking. I imagine it’s got to do with the soil.

Graffiti.

0101 0102

The world of graffiti is one that fascinates me. Banksy is my idol. But also, there are just the regular graffitis that in the right context (like the picture above) create an urban world of their own. Like an utopia of just being. I read an article that this place was going to be torn down and then these guys that skate and graffiti there got together and got to keep it as is. I thought it was such a great achievement. An example of urban freedom. I hope it really does stay like this.

My favorite thing about London…

Big Ben

Millenium Bridge

When I got back from my trip to London everyone kept asking me what my favorite thing had been. And I would just stare blankly back and lamely say “everything”. I got some pretty meaningful “what is wrong with you” stares back.

But the thing is, my favorite thing about London was all of it. From the big museum and must-visits, to the coffee and people. I tried to see and experience as much as I could and ended up with around 2,000 pictures. How could I chose just one thing?

Queretaro Queretaro QueretaroPhotos by me

I can’t believe how fast time goes by. Where does it go?! Anyway.. these are more photos from when I went to Queretaro about a month ago. I loved the streets in that city. Can’t wait to visit them again.

No puedo creer lo rápido que se pasa el tiempo. A dónde se va?!… Éstas son más fotos de cuando fui hace como un mes. Me encantaron las calles de Querétaro. Ya quiero regresar.

It’s amazing when you can share a dear passion of yours with a really close friend. My good friend (pictured) and I have been known for getting lost on purpose to find unique places. And lets never underestimate and think even a dumpster can’t have its charms.

Queretaro Queretaro Queretaro QueretaroPhoto by me

This is my longest post yet. I went to Querétaro a couple of days ago, and I think I’m in love. The people were super nice, the food amazing, the city clean and I can’t even start with the architecture (which you can get a taste of here). I really want to go back soon. Go!!

Vayan!!
